Three rooms.Nine guests.
Madi Maldives is a three-room guesthouse on Orchid Magu, in the middle of Ukulhas, in North Ari Atoll. It is locally owned and locally run. That size is the whole idea, not a limitation we are working around.
What three rooms makes possible
A larger property runs on systems. We run on knowing.
With nine guests we can hold every arrangement in our heads. We know which boat you are on, which morning your ocean trip is booked for, and that you asked about the twin setup rather than the king.
It also means one conversation. You message one number about your dates, your flights, your excursion and your bill, not a booking engine for one, a transfer desk for another and a tour operator for the third. Everything you need is arranged before you land and settled when you leave.
We opened in 2025
Which means the rooms are new, and it means we have not been doing this for twenty years.
Both are worth knowing. Guests describe the rooms as brand new because they are: the building is barely a year old, the air conditioning works properly and nothing is worn.
And if you are comparing us against a guesthouse with four hundred reviews, we do not have four hundred reviews. We have the ones we have earned so far.
Who hosts you
Ahmed Farooq. Most people end up calling him Faddo.
He was born on Ukulhas and he lives on Ukulhas. He has been in this water since he was a child: fishing, swimming, snorkelling, out on boats. When we tell you which morning to go looking for manta rays, or which end of the beach is calm when the wind turns, that is not something we read.
It is also the reason the arrangements work. Booking a boat here is not a transaction with a call centre. It is Faddo talking to people he has known his whole life.
What we do
We sell a stay, not a room.
- Your room, with its own balcony
- Breakfast every morning, in the garden
- Both speedboat journeys, airport to Ukulhas and back
- One morning out on the water
- All applicable taxes and service charges
One price. Nothing added at the end. Beyond that we arrange whatever you want from the island: more excursions, diving through one of the island's centres, half board or full board, a private speedboat if your flight lands at an awkward hour.

We are not a resort, and we do not describe ourselves as one.
Ukulhas is an inhabited island. There is no alcohol, no private beach and no spa here. Swimwear belongs on the bikini beach.
We would rather say that now than have you discover it on the first evening. If what you want is a resort, book a resort. They are very good at it, and they cost several times what we do.
If what you want is the same ocean, a place that carries on around you, and someone who answers the phone, that is what this is.
What Ukulhas is actually likeWhat we will not tell you
- We will not promise you manta rays.
- We take you to the places they gather with people who are on that water every day, and then the ocean decides.
- We do not run a “was” price.
- The struck figure on every package is what the same room, transfers and excursion cost booked separately, which is a real number you can check.
- We do not publish a price we have not confirmed.
- Where something is quoted on enquiry, such as half board or a second excursion, it is because we would rather give you a real figure for your dates than a headline with conditions under it.

The bikini beach is under three minutes on foot. Ukulhas is about ninety minutes from Velana International Airport by shared speedboat.
